“The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
Prayan,
Take care of yourself before you take care of others. If you don’t, you’ll be a wishful stump incapable of doing anything for anyone you care about. Put YOU first.
Why have you built up such internal subconscious frustration over the years? Tell me. Do you really believe the way you felt was because you’ve been following your heart the whole time?
Have you been pursuing what you believe with full focus and effort, or obstructing yourself by getting roped into the whimsical plans others had in mind against your better judgement?
Do you worry that focusing on yourself is selfish because you’ll be letting go of the people in your life?
Understand this, the people you need in your life are the ones who see you working on yourself and cheer, not question with resentment, nor do they judge. More than anything, they want your wellbeing, and if this is how you need to pursue it, they wish you well. The difference between those you should surround yourself with and those in your circle that are a drain, will reveal itself naturally with time as you prioritize yourself. This isn’t a judge of character, nor is it meant to label anyone as good or bad, but rather a judge of who is good or bad for you when growth is your primary objective*.* ****Especially in the face of self improvement, it’ll become clear that your evolution is not always in the agenda of those you hold close, and so by nature, you create distance. If your aim to grow becomes an ultimatum, to choose you or them.. Choose You.
This is okay. This is not to say shut yourself away from the world in an empty room and grind. I’m not.. not saying that either. Decide for yourself what is best for you without the consideration of others and move forward. What happens will happen as it was always meant to, watch and observe as the world you once knew deconstructs itself for the sake of your new future.
Recognize that you cannot satisfy everybody and are not obligated to do so. To toil away your time and energy on the fields of another bears you little more than fatigue and hunger. Cultivate a garden of your own, lush and vivacious, and you can feed the world with the fruits of your own labour.
Show what you can do.
If you trust yourself, it’s all you need to bring the world to its knees. Make them understand that you saw greatness within yourself before everyone. Believe in the gift that God has given you. If you have the vision, don’t let others talk you out of it. How could they possibly understand if they don’t have your sight? Don’t doubt yourself. Reflect and dream. If you’re taking their advice, you’ll be making their mistakes. You have to exceed. Find your own path.
Follow your heart and learn along the way.
